When Lara arrives at the garage, the sound of thunder and lightning
strikes will fill the room. Turn around and climb down the ladder.
Release when Lara is at the bottom. Turn around and run to the
injured soldier lying on the ramp ahead. As Lara approaches the mortally injured soldier, he rolls onto one his side, draws his pistol and aims it at Lara. Lara draws her guns and warns, "Put your gun away. Azizas sent me." The soldier holsters his weapon and begs for help, "Help me, Englisher. I bleed to death. I tried to hide, but those things smell the blood on me." Lara is aware that there's nothing she can do for him, so she gets down to business, "I've come for the mine frequency. I need to get back to Azizas through this rabbit warren with both legs intact." A smile breaks onto the soldiers face as he tells Lara proudly, "I do a good job with the mines." Then he sighs and rolls away from Lara and reaches for something, "Ah, not that it does us any good. We are all dead or dying." He tosses the detonator at Lara. It skitters across the floor and comes to a rest at Lara's feet. Lara looks at the detonator. Knowing it is useless without the codes, she press the soldier for more information, "Where are the rest of you? I need those explosive codes." The soldier knows what Lara wants and tells her bitterly, "Saida, my colleague, lies across the roof bridge in the mosque. As we retreated, something new that we had not encountered before came from the shadows like lightning and took his head." Lara shakes off her sympathy with more urgent matters. She asks again, "The codes?" The soldier doesn't know. His frustration begins to burn and exclaims, "Inside his head! Inside the creature!" This isn't the answer Lara was looking for and she presses bad, "I need those codes!" The soldier sighs and tells Lara, "Search his body. I don't know. Leave me for now, for I am weak and wish to prepare myself for God." He rolls away from Lara and breathes his last.(follow plot) |

Mine Detonator Body & Car-Jack Body |
Pick up the mine detonator body (1) and run forward. Turn right before Lara reaches the blue car. When Lara reaches the wall of the garage, turn left and run forward to the space behind the car. Pick up car-jack body (2) and continue forward. | ||
Handle
|
Continue forward and turn left to round the corner. Run forward and
angle Lara to the left when she is past the car. Run to the table
that is against the western side of the garage. Stand squarely in
front of and against the table and pick up the handle (3). Turn left and run to the southern side of the room. Push the big red button beside the ramp, to open the door at the top of the ramp. Turn left and vault up onto the ramp and turn right. Enter the tunnel and turn right. Run forward and pull up into a crawlspace. Crawl forward and pick up a large Medi Pack (4). Crouch back down, crawl backwards, and have Lara lower herself out of the crawlspace. Turn right and climb up the ladder. When Lara pulls up to the tunnel above, run forward. Take a standing jump forward and grab the overhead bars. Turn right and swing forward until Lara drops to a ledge. Turn right and pull up into a crouched position. Turn around crawl backwards and have Lara lower herself out of the crawlspace. When Lara reaches the next room, she will see that the metal grate overhead is locked. Turn around, run forward, and vault up onto the ledge. Combine the car-jack body with the handle to form a car-jack. Step forward and use it on the small brick ledge. By cranking up the jack, Lara will break the lock holding down the metal grate. Turn right and step forward to edge of the platform. Jump up and grab the edge of the opening and pull up onto the roof. Turn right and Lara will find that the lightning striking a metal plate ahead. Angle Lara to the left and run to the corridor to the left of the metal plate. A swarm of locusts will soon appear, so reverse roll and run around until the locusts disperse. Return to the corridor to the west of the metal plate. Turn right and run to the area behind the metal plate. Turn right and pull the metal sledge away from the metal plate. Run around to the other side of the metal sledge and push it once into the alcove to the north. Take a hop back and turn right. Pull the strange machine out of the alcove to the east. Step around to the north side of the machine and push it forward twice, onto the metal plate. The weight of the heavy machine will cause the metal plate to sink. It will no longer be the highest best conductor, so lightening will strike the bridge, destroying one end of it. Turn left and step forward to the edge of the building. Side step to the left until Lara is lined up with the broken bridge. Step forward and drop down onto the bridge. Run forward to the end of the bridge and then take a running jump and grab onto the ladder on the wall opposite the bridge. Climb up one rung and shift to the left until Lara rounds one outside corner, one inside corner and another outside corner. Release from the wall when Lara is safely over the ledge on the northern side of the building. |

SECRET #1
|
Turn around and walk forward to the edge of the platform.
Angle Lara to the right and take a standing jump to the flat roof to
the northeast. Turn Lara to the right and run forward. Turn Lara to
the right again and run forward into SECRET #1. A swarm of locusts will attack, so quickly reverse roll and run around until they disperse. When the locusts disperse, head toward the southwest corner of the roof top and pick up a large Medi Pack (5), a quiver full of poison crossbow bolts (6), and a box of flash grenades (7). Head back to the northern side of the roof and turn left. Walk forward until Lara steps onto the sloped part of the roof. Turn left and take a standing jump back to the flat brick ledge. |

| Side step to the left until Lara can vault up into the opening. Walk forward to the far edge of slope and turn around. Hop backwards and safety drop to a ramp below. Lara will slide backwards down a ramp. Grab the edge of the ramp and then safety drop to the ramp below. Lara will slide forward into a dimly lit tunnel. | |||

Turn right and run forward, dropping to the ground beyond the tunnel.
Turn right and run forward down the ramp. Turn right and run down the
next ramp. Pick up the mine position data (8) from beside the headless soldier. Immediately reverse roll, run up the ramp, and turn right. Head for the southwest corner of this area and take a running jump onto a small ledge, where Lara is safe from a Guardian of Semerkhet (1). Wait until the bull crushes the two wooden crates beside the ledge and wait for an opportune time, such as after the bull has crashed into some wall, to drop to the floor to pick up a small Medi Pack (9) and a canister of flares (10) that were in the crates. Lara will have to lure the bull into crush the third crate by running to it and jumping over it. Beneath the crate Lara will find a set of Uzi clips (11). Finally Lara must stand in front of the stack of three crates and lure the Guardian into smashing them aside for her. When the three crates have been pushed aside enter the passageway that was formerly blocked by the crates and turn left. Run up the slope and turn left again. Draw weapons and step out onto the balcony. Immediately turn left and charge a sniper (2) that will emerge on the balcony. After taking out the sniper, follow the balcony to the west. Halfway down the balcony, turn left and enter the tunnel below the hole in the wall. Turn left and step forward to slide down the ramp, back into the trenches. |
